KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Young runners braved Saturday's rain and cold weather to run the last mile of the annual Covenant Health Kids Run.

Over the past several weeks, children have been logging more than 25 miles through walking, jogging, running and other exercises.

All of that effort led up to today's race where kids ran the last leg together, for a total of 26.2 miles.

The runners finished on the 50 yard line of Neyland Stadium. That's the same finish line marathoners will use on Sunday.

Some 10,000 people are expected to run or watch the Knoxville Marathon.

The Marathon, Half-Marathon, 4 Person Relay and 2 Person Relay begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, while the 5K begins at 7:45 a.m.

Tickets are no longer available online, but are available in person. More information can be found online.
