KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville Federal Bureau of Investigation officials are asking for help in a nationwide search for an unknown man suspected of sexually exploiting a child.

Images and video of the man, whom the FBI is calling John Doe 28, engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in November 2012.

FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children officials believe the images contain several clues which may help in identifying the subject.

The video shows the subject and the victim inside a home with what appears to be a blue sofa chair and a picture hanging on a wall in the background.

The subject is seen wearing wire-framed glasses and a burgundy T-shirt with what appears to be a shark logo on his left side.

There are no details linking the suspect to a particular state or region of the United States. Both his identity and whereabouts are unknown.

He is described as a Caucasian male, possibly in his 30s or 40s, with a receding hairline.

Anyone with information should contact their local FBI office, submit a tip online at https://tips.fbi.gov/, or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
