GREENEVILLE (WATE/WJHL) - The Greene County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the identity of the body removed from an area lake earlier this week.

Juanita Ramsey, 84, Greene County, was reported missing Monday; her car and her body were found in Watauga Lake in Johnson County later that day.

The Greene County Sheriff's Office confirmed the information Wednesday afternoon.

A nationwide BOLO (be on the lookout) had been issued for Ramsey's vehicle.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Ramsey was driving on State Highway 167 when she failed to brake at a stop sign. Troopers say she slid through a gravel parking lot before going down a 60 foot embankment and ending up in a lake.

Troopers say the vehicle traveled some 75 feet into the lake. becoming submerged in about 11 feet of water.
