GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. -

Two people were charged with theft in Goodlettsville after police say they stole hundreds of dollars in meat.

Teresa Wright, 37, and Steven Bayless, 34, are accused of stealing from the Kroger grocery store located at 123 Northcreek Boulevard.

Police reported Wright went inside the store and filled a cart with $654 in meat.  Bayless stayed inside the vehicle because he was previously banned from all Kroger property.

Wright allegedly left the cart full of meat in the parking lot when she noticed employees were coming toward her.

The duo drove off, but was stopped a short time later on Myatt Drive after police got a vehicle description from employees.

According to an affidavit, Wright admitted to the theft and told officers they planned to resell the meat for profit.  Bayless also reportedly admitted to knowledge of the crime.

They were both charged with theft.

Bayless faces an additional charge of trespassing since he was banned from Kroger property.
