OAK RIDGE (WATE) – The Oak Ridge Fire Department says it believes a lightning strike was the cause of a house fire Thursday morning.

Oak Ridge Fire Chief Darryl Kerley says his crews were called to 118 Graceland Road around 7:45 a.m. The roof was fully involved.

Officials say the homeowner did not realize the house was on fire until a neighbor came to get her out of the house.

"I ran in, called 911 and then I scooted up there and started banging on the front door to see if anybody was there and I was just about ready to kick the door in," said neighbor Chris Wetherall. "My neighbor was asleep upstairs, and so she came down to the door and I got her out."

Officials believe a lightning strike was the cause of the fire.

No one was injured.
