BIG RIDGE (WATE) - The Union County Sheriff's Office is now releasing the name of the suspect that allegedly fired shots toward a residence and officers Saturday night.

Arrest warrants have now been issued for Edward "Bud" Wilson on two counts of Aggravated Assault.

Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, the Union County E 911 Center received a call about a person firing shots near Highway 61 and the Anderson and Union County line. The caller said that the suspect was hostile toward them for some unknown reason.

Upon arrival, officers say the suspect fired shots in their direction, as they called for backup. Mr. Wilson appeared to have fled the scene once officers obtained a search warrant for his residence.

A section of the road near Big Ridge State Park remained closed as of Sunday morning, according to state troopers, and the location of Mr. Wilson is still unknown at this time.
