Clinton woman charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at husband


CLINTON (WATE) - An Anderson County woman is facing charges after allegedly shooting her husband on Sunday.

Deputies arrested Cheryl Freels at her home on Slope Lane in Clinton after her husband, Robert Freels, told deputies that they had gotten into a fight and that his wife had started shooting at him.

Mr. Freels told deputies that he managed to get the gun away from her, then grabbed their son and left the home.

Mrs. Freels has since been charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 10th.
