Students at Daniel Boone High School were evacuated Friday morning around 9 a.m., after a message written on a bathroom wall indicated a possible threat to the school.

The message was discovered Friday in one of the bathrooms at the school, and students, faculty and staff were asked to evacuate to the football stadium near the campus.

Washington County Schools spokesperson Jim Murphy said the Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies, as well as fire personnel, were called to the school and said the students are safe.

Murphy said everyone inside the school was evacuated in the interest of safety, but said they did not believe there is any real threat. A couple of hours later students were allowed to return to class.
