MARYVILLE (WATE) - An arrest has been made in the recent destruction of Blount County radio equipment.

Officials say tips from the community helped them identify seven suspects, after they were captured on surveillance video allegedly vandalizing several breaker boxes near the fire tower on Foothills Parkway.

Blount County deputies say Roy Dickson, 22, was taken into custody on Saturday for vandalism of over $60,000.

Dickson remains in the Blount County jail on a $50,000 bond pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court on April 16th.

Dickson marks the first arrest made in the case so far. Deputies say more charges could be forthcoming.
