LEBANON, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities have identified the pilot who was killed when his ultralight aircraft crashed in Wilson County.

According to WTVF-TV in Nashville, officials with the Wilson County Sheriff's Office say the pilot was 61-year-old David S. Carter of Nashville.

The small plane went down Saturday morning in a field near Edwards Road in Lebanon. No one else was onboard.

A spokeswoman with the Federal Aviation Administration says officials were working to confirm the size and type of the aircraft, in order to determine whether they would investigate.
