6 Storm Team Meteorologist

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Today is mild with highs in the mid 70s, but showers and a few storms will develop during the day. Grab an umbrella! We'll briefly dry out this evening before more rain arrives overnight. Lows are in the mid 40s. On Tuesday, we'll begin the day with even more rain and some thunder. As the rain moves out, temperatures plummet during the day! We'll fall to around 40 by 5pm. The high elevations may even briefly see snow on Tuesday morning! We are not expecting travel issues with that, but we will have some spring planting/crop issues Tuesday night. Temperatures keep falling to a Knoxville low of 28. The entire area is under a Freeze Watch as a hard freeze is likely area-wide by early Wednesday morning. Plan to take precautions! Sunshine is back on Wednesday with a warmer high of 60.

TODAY: Scattered Showers. High: 75

TONIGHT: Rain/Thunder. Low: 45

TUESDAY: Cold Rain/Thunder/Falling Temps. 40 by 5pm.
