Kodak man killed, 2 injured in DUI crash

KODAK (WATE) - Troopers say drugs and alcohol are to blame for a deadly crash that claimed the life of a Kodak man and injured two others in Sevier County on Sunday.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the accident happened just after 5 p.m. on the 3600 block of Hickman Road in Kodak.

Troopers say 29-year-old Thomas Otting, of Kodak, was driving southbound when he crossed the center line and hit a Mitsubishi Eclipse head-on.

Otting was killed in the crash. His passenger, 36-year-old Joshua Porterfield, of Kodak, was injured. The Mitsubishi driver, 18-year-old Brandi Stallings, of Kodak, was also injured in the wreck.

THP says Otting had drugs and alcohol in his system.

Charges have been filed against Porterfield for not reporting the accident.
