Jellico Elementary School evacuated after bomb threat

JELLICO, TENN (WATE) - The Jellico Elementary School was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat.

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office has stated that a written non-specific threat was brought to the principal of the Jellico Elementary School from a student restroom.

The CCSO does not perceive the threat as serious and a joint decision has been made by Campbell County School Administrators and the Sheriff's Office to evacuate the students from the school.

The Sheriff plans to use their explosives detection K-9 to sweep the school.
