MARYVILLE (WATE) - Deputies have arrested a second person in connection with a weekend assault and robbery outside of a Blount County bakery.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office has charged 31-year-old David Mills with robbery after he allegedly took part in assaulting and robbing a Richy Kreme employee early Saturday morning.

Deputies say he was taken into custody in Knoxviille on Wednesday. The Knoxville Police Department assisted in the arrest.

Mills is being held in the Blount County Detention Facility. As of Wednesday evening, his bond and court date had not been set.

This is the second arrest in the case. Knoxville Police Department officers say they took another suspect into custody on Saturday.

That suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, faces drug charges in Knox County. Officials say he must first face the charges in Knox County before he can be released into the custody of Blount County deputies.
