KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Shari'a Law event that some say discriminates against Muslims has been moved from its prior location to a local church.

"Act for America" planned to hold that town hall at Farragut High School, but that stirred up some controversy between a UT Muslim group and organizers of the event.

They called the event "educational," but last last week, Knox County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre sent a letter to organizers, stopping them from using the school.

He said it had become a distraction to the educational process.

According to a local newspaper ad, the new venue will be the Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
