6 News caught up with managers and coaches for Crossfit as they were putting the finishing touches on the new location.

The location will not be entirely finished Monday, but managers said they will start welcoming customers at that point.

Crossfit is all about fitness training that people of all different ability levels can join.

"We're in a really unique area to cater to both commuters, people working downtown as well as people living in Old City and downtown,” Crossfit manager and coach, Chris Jensen said.

The new Crossfit building is part of a program with the city that offers a tax in lieu of payment program, known as Pilot.

It was part of the city’s efforts to encourage more growth in the area.

"Being the first business I guess this side of the railroad tracks is huge for us,” Crossfit manager & coach, Rick Ball said. “We're really excited about what this is going to bring not only for Rocky Top Crossfit but for Old City in general."

Construction is already underway in the neighborhood for a new apartment complex.

"We're excited to just to participate in sort of the growth of this area and getting more of an insurgence of people to come here,” Jensen said.

"We've already started to see renovations in the buildings surrounding us now,” Ball said. “There's one right next to us."

Ball and Jensen said they encourage everyone to come by and learn what Crossfit is about.
