KINGSTON (WATE) - A Roane County judge has revoked bond for murder suspect Shawn Smoot after he was arrested for DUI in McMinn County.

Smoot was arrested in McMinn County on charges of DUI, violation of the implied consent law and resisting arrest.

Smoot was out of jail on bond after being accused of first degree murder in the 2011 death of his former girlfriend, Brooke Morris.

Smoot is accused of first degree murder in the 2011 death of his former girlfriend, Brooke Morris.

He became a suspect in Morris's death shortly after she was found dead of a gunshot wound on a Roane County road.

He was indicted on murder charges in July 2012, but failed to turn himself in as ordered. Smoot was later captured in Mississippi.

A judge ordered Tuesday that Smoot's bond be revoked and ordered his arrest. He is to be held without bond until further orders of the court.
