"We watched her grow up and I know her family. I just think it wasn't right the way that she was done, said her friend Jennifer Jobe.

Several of McKamey's friends and family came together Wednesday night in Lake City for a candlelight vigil in her honor.

McKamey left behind three young sons.

Her friends say the vigil is a way for them to remember the kind of person she was and a way for them to fight for justice.

"She was a really good friend and a really good mother, and I hated to see what happened to her. I wanted to come out here and get as many candles as we can burning for our friend to support justice for her," said her friend Lindsey Ward.

We're told McKamey's funeral was Wednesday afternoon.

McKamey's boyfriend Kieth Pittman is charged with 2nd degree murder in her death.
