Morgan County to open shelter as severe storms move into the area

WARTBURG (WATE) - Morgan County Emergency Management will open a shelter Monday night as possible severe storms approach.

The shelter is set to open at 7:30 p.m., and will be located at 202 South Kingston Street in Wartburg.

Morgan County Emergency Management Director Jody Zorsch says the shelter is open to anyone who feels they are unsafe in the structure they're in or any other place that could potentially pose a threat.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, 11 counties in Tennessee had reported damage from storms, with 5 of those landing in East Tennessee.

Those reported affected counties are Morgan, Scott, Campbell, Claiborne and Sullivan.
