CARYVILLE (WATE) - A Campbell County High School student was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Caryville.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Daniel Ramos, 19, was headed northbound on Island Ford Road near Stonemill Road around 4:30 p.m. when he overcorrected due to the wet conditions, slid off the road and struck a tree.

Ramos was later pronounced dead. He was wearing a seat belt.

Campbell County school officials say guidance counselors are on hand to help students with their grief.
