CLINTON (WATE) - The District Attorney General is working to shut down an Anderson County spa under the nuisance law Friday after two workers were arrested on prostitution charges earlier this week.

King Accupressure, 2683 Andersonville Highway was declared a nuisance Friday by District Attorney General Dave Clark. Clark says prostitution activities began at the spa almost immediately after it opened last month.

According to a criminal complaint, King Accupressure, also known as King Asian Spa, began advertising on the website "Backpage" almost immediately after it opened Officials say the site is most commonly associated with ads for sexual related services. The complaint states that King's advertisements suggested sexual services for pay would be available.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Department immediately began an investigation and started surveillance of the business.

An investigator visited the business on April 29, posing as a potential customer. While there, two women, Young Hwa Park and Chong Kim, collected money and/or provided massage services.

During the visit, the investigator says Park asked if he wanted her to perform a sexual act. The investigator said he did and Park then asked for money.

Both women were placed under arrest. It was later discovered that neither woman is a licensed massage therapist.

DA Clark asked the court Friday to enter a temporary injunction that would close the business and seize teh contents. A hearing has yet to be scheduled by the court.
