UT student arrested for allegedly shooting out bus window

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -  A University of Tennessee student is facing multiple charges after allegedly shooting out a bus window early Saturday morning.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, the driver of a UT late night bus reported that his rear window had been shot out.

UTPD managed to locate a suspect on the roof of a Highland Avenue house in the Fort Sanders neighborhood.

Officials say that while UTPD covered the suspect from the ground, KPD officers moved through the home, then took the suspect into custody on the home's roof.

Police say they realized that the suspect had been using a BB gun after arresting him.

The suspect is identified as 20-year-old Jack Powers. Powers has been charged with aggravated assault, felony vandalism, public intoxication, underage consumption, and possession of fraudulent identification.
