Search called off for possible drowning victim

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The search has been called off after witnesses reported a possible drowning in South Knoxville.

Dispatchers got the first call around five Sunday. Divers searched for about two hours at Fort Dickerson Park near Blount Avenue.
Some witnesses said they saw a man jump into the water and never saw him come back up.

However, firefighters say those people might have actually seen a rock falling or were possibly mistaken about what they saw.

They say they'll take another look if a missing person report is filed.
