JCFD internal investigation complete, city withholding comment for now

Posted: Updated:
JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - An internal investigation into the alleged actions of a Johnson City Fire Department supervisor is now complete, but the city says it won't be able to release any information about the findings until that employee meets with the city manager.

It's unclear when that meeting will take place. A city spokesperson says the goal is "as soon as possible." We're told the supervisor in question is currently out on medical leave.

That man is accused of making fun of another firefighter's haircut, grabbing a pair of scissors and then cutting the man's hair himself.

The city had originally hoped to wrap up the investigation two weeks ago, but the city manager said staff members needed to talk to everyone involved and firefighters' schedules made that difficult.
