TSSAA ends Knox Central soccer season after fight

6 Sports Director

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knox Central soccer season has come to an end. Not because of a loss.

Because of a fight.

"Today, Central High School received communication from TSSAA that the remainder of our 2013-2014 boys soccer season has come to an end," Central athletics director J.D. Lambert said in a statement released to WATE 6 Sports.

"In addition to the premature ending to this post season run, TSSAA has placed the boys soccer team on probation."

The Bobcats hosted Clinton in a district tournament game on Monday night.

An eyewitness told WATE 6 Sports that Central was leading 4-2 when a fight broke out involving players from both teams. The game was ended with approximately five minutes to play.

Lambert's statement made no mention of the fight.

The TSSAA refused to comment on possible punishment for Clinton-- saying they will release more information on Thursday.
