Knoxville woman in reported abduction found safe in North Carolina

MARION, NC (WATE) - Officials in the kidnapping investigation of Tamra Beam are reporting she was safely recovered in North Carolina and one man was taken into custody.

The McDowell County Sheriff's Department reports the she and the kidnapping suspect were found at a rest area on Interstate 40 near Marion, NC early this morning. The suspect is in custody and was taken to the McDowell County jail.

The Knoxville Police Department says Tamra Beam, 51, was discovered missing from 7205 Sheffield Drive after receiving a report of a reported burglary and possible crime against a person around 1:51 p.m. Wednesday.
