KNOXVILLE (WATE) - YouTube singing star Emi Sunshine is thanking East Tennessee for their support over the last few weeks.

We told you last month her family car was stolen from a Maryville gas station. Police used surveillance photos from the scene to track down the car and a suspect on Friday.

Emi Sunshine's dad, Randall Hamilton, is happy to hear the news.

"We were just really excited when we heard about it. I thought you know what that's great, but I wasn't sure what shape it was going to be in, and we haven't seen it," Hamilton said.

"I was concerned if it was messed up too," added Emi.

They still don't have it back yet, but in the meantime they're using a van donated anonymously to continue playing their shows, including a Mother's Day cruise on the Tennessee River.

"It was nicer than anything we could have ever asked for, and we were able to go to Nashville and make it back here," Hamilton said.

Through it all, Emi is still smiling, and now playing her new favorite gift, a handmade ukulele.

"The amount of support that Emi has received, and all of us really, has just been so overwhelming. We know that East Tennessee is a wonderful place to be, but it's letting everybody know that it's a beautiful place," said Emi's mom Alisha Hamilton.

"Thank you kindly," adds Emi.

The family is hoping to get their car back sometime this week.

41-year-old Kevin Scott Pressley, of Maryville, is charged with theft over $1,000. He goes to court May 20th. Maryville police say the car was found in Knoxville and another person was arrested for driving it.
