SEVIER COUNTY (WATE) - Sevier county authorities are asking for your help to solve two vandalism cases. Both happened at Masonic lodges sometime during the week of April 18th to April 25th.

One at the Mountain Star Lodge in Sevierville, the other at the French Broad Lodge in Kodak.

"They just threw everything around over here, took the chairs and turned them over," said member Terry Clark as he describes the damage to the Mountain Star Lodge.

Clark says vandals damaged property throughout the building, including leaving refrigerator doors open so all the food went bad.

They also broke into two safes, tampered with documents dating back to the 1800s and destroyed a garage door.

"We had a lot of damage. It took maybe 20 guys the better part of a day just to put everything back together and clean everything back up," Clark said.

He says they've spent about $4,000 to fix everything.

"This is the first time anything like this has ever happened, and it doesn't make sense to come here because we have nothing to take," Clark said.

At the Masonic Lodge in Kodak, member William Wheeler says two bibles and a handmade clock were stolen, while some cash was left behind.

"The main thing they did was just trash the place," Wheeler said.

To help prevent any more vandalism from happening at the Kodak lodge, Wheeler says security cameras will be installed in just a few days.

Members of both lodges say they aren't sure why they were targeted or who would want to damage their property.

The Mountain Star Lodge is offering a $500 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

If you have information on the Sevierville case, you're asked to call Sevierville Police at 868-1747.

If you have information on the Kodak case, you're asked to call the Sevier County Sheriff's Office at 453-6680.
