KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A car crash led to a partial closure of Beaumont Avenue in Northwest Knoxville Tuesday morning.

The Knoxville Police Department says the driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado lost control and struck a utility pole.

The crash caused power lines to fall onto the road.

Beaumont Avenue was closed between Reed Street and Boyd Street while utility crews repaired the lines. The road reopened shortly before noon.

The driver has been identified as Hal Ernest Helton, 51. He was arrested for DUI, driving without due care, and not having insurance.
