Oak Ridge standoff suspect charged, released on bond

OAK RIDGE (WATE) - The woman arrested after a nearly four-hour standoff with police in Oak Ridge Monday has bonded out of jail after being charged with going armed while intoxicated.

According to a police report, Patsy Oliver, 62, approached a neighbor Monday morning carrying a small handgun. That neighbor and another said she appeared to be under the influence.

After attempting to make contact with her for nearly four hours, officers eventually were able to speak with Oliver on her porch, noticing her speech was slurred and slow. They also recovered a .25 caliber handgun containing seven rounds.

Oliver was released from jail on $5,000 bond.
