KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man was taken to the hospital after falling off a water tower in South Knoxville Wednesday morning. Another man is now facing trespassing charges.

Police say Michael Ellison, 28, called 911 around 2:45 a.m. to say his friend fell off the KUB water tower at 1044 Cherokee Trail.

Officials say he and Bryan Henderson, 27, got through the gate and were climbing ladders. Henderson fell. He was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.

Police discovered Ellison had consumed alcohol and taken Xanax. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and public intoxication. Henderson was cited for criminal trespassing.
