JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - One local school is remembering a small girl in a big way. In January, we told you about the life of Taylor Smith. She's the 12-year-old Johnson City girl who died as a result of complications related to pneumonia.

Her story got national attention when her parents found a letter she wrote to her future 22-year-old self to be read in 10 years. The letter was filled with wise words well beyond her 12 years.

Now, her school has permanent reminders of the inspiring life Taylor lived. From her own very words - the quote reads..."stuff happens in life, good and bad, you just have to go with it."

The quote is now a permanent fixture on the wall in the library at Liberty Bell Middle School.

On another wall, another quote from Taylor, "Today is full of...possible!" is there to inspire Liberty Bell students for years to come.

According to Liberty Bell Librarian Johnnie Sue Hawley, "I got to thinking. There are quotes all over the school but there's none in the library. So after her letter was released, I thought the last two lines were very comforting to a lot of students. You know stuff happens, both good and bad.. You just go with it."

The library will also be installing a special shelf that will house all of Taylor's favorite books for students to read.
