PIGEON FORGE (WATE) - A food drive coordinated by Sevier County Food Ministries and Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede resulted in a record-breaking amount of food collected.

The drive concluded Wednesday with a total of 50,400 pounds of food donated for Sevier County families.

During 12 Dixie Stampede performances, guests were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items as they visited the popular dinner attraction.

With more than 25 tons of food collected, this drive represents the greatest number of pounds donated during any food drive in the history of Sevier County Food Ministries. Last year’s 18,865 pounds was the previous record.
