ALCOA (WATE) - A Maryville man is facing DUI charges after allegedly crashing his car twice in the same night.

Deputies say 21-year-old Douglas Treece crashed into a Maryville police cruiser on Wednesday night.

A Blount County deputy responded to the scene, but allowed Treece to leave.

About an hour-and-a-half later, the same deputy saw Treece run his car into a ditch, just a street over from where he had originally been pulled over.

Deputies say Treece later admitted to smoking a substantial amount of marijuana, and taking prescription pills.

The arresting deputy later told Alcoa police that the suspect was acting differently during the second wreck than he had during the first, leading to the suspicion of DUI.

Alcoa police say the suspect failed a number of sobriety tests, and that after being placed under arrest he became very aggressive.

Officers say he kicked the back of the police cruiser until they arrived at an area hospital for a blood test.

He was taken to the Blount County Jail to be held on a $500 bond.
