CAK to play for another soccer title; area teams advance at Spring Fling

Knoxville (WATE) - CAK will play for a third straight state soccer title in Murfreesboro on Friday.

The Warriors beat Hume-Fogg 3-0 in a state A/AA semifinal game on Wednesday.

After a scoreless first half, John Foncea put the Warriors up 1-0 at th 48:00 mark on an assist from John Broyles. 

John Creel and Parker Owen added goals to secure the win for CAK>

The Warriors will face CPA on Friday in Murfreesboro.

Farragut was looking for their first state title since 2009, but the Admirals came up short in the Class AAA semi-final game, losing 1-0 to Collierville.

In baseball, Farragut, CAK, Grace Christian and Sequoyah all advanced in the winners bracket.

Sequoyah beat Catholic 6-4 on Wednesday. 

The Irish won an elimination game 9-2 over CPA on Wednesday night.

In softball, Maryville won an elimination game on Wednesday night, beating Collierville 8-6.

Gibbs stayed alive with an 8-5 win over Munford.

CAK and Grace remained unbeaten with wins on Wednesday.
