KNOXVILLE (WATE) - We haven't seen a lot of health inspection scores below 70 recently since the health department started concentrating their efforts more on correcting critical violations and putting less emphasis on the small stuff.

Critical violations are those issues that could potentially make customers sick. However, there are some criticals in this week's lowest score.

Agave Azul Mexican Grill, 4405 Kingston Pike - Grade: 75

That grade is passing. The inspector writes that hamburgers and chicken in the refrigerator were out of temperature. They should have been at 41 and below to slow the growth of bacteria, but they weren't.

The problem was apparently with the refrigerator. It wasn't working properly. The inspector says it wasn't holding temperature. It was at 44 degrees, and according to health rules, that is too warm.

The inspector says two kitchen workers were seen eating their lunch on the cook line, a table where they make food. You can do that at home, but you cannot at restaurants.

Also, the inspector found no chlorine in the final phase of the dishwasher, so dishes weren't being properly sanitized.

The cheese slicer was found dirty and had not been sanitized.

Top Scores of the Week:

  • Five Guys, 7531 Barnett Way - Grade: 100
  • Taco Bell, 7414 Kingston Pike - Grade: 100
  • Charley's Grilled Subs, West Town Mall - Grade: 100
  • Casual Pint, 4841 Harvest Mill Way - Grade: 100
  • Chop House, 7417 Chapman Highway - Grade: 99
  • Arby's, 7112 Strawberry Plains Pike - Grade: 99
  • Krystal, 405 E. Emory Road - Grade: 98
  • Oskie's Sports Grill, 155 West End Drive - Grade: 98
Restaurants are routinely inspected every six months. However, there are spot checks if there is a legitimate complaint lodged to the county health department.
