Two Knoxville swimming pools to open for memorial day weekend

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two Knoxville swimming pools will open for residents to beat the heat this Memorial Day weekend.

The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department is opening the Ed Cothren Pool, 1737 Reynolds Street, and Inskip Pool, 4204 Bruhin Road, at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Admission for the pools is $3 per person per visit at Inskip Pool and $2 per person per visit at Ed Cothren Pool.

Pool hours through the summer are Monday through Saturday  from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Knoxville Parks and Recreation also offers Learn-to-Swim classes at its two outdoor pools during the summer season. Cost per session is $45 for the initial child and $25 for any additional children participating. The first session (eight 45-minute lessons) will be held June 2 to June 12.
