Lady Vols fall to Oklahoma 8-1

Knoxville (WATE) - The Lady Vols softball team dropped an 8-1 decision to Oklahoma in game one of their best-of-three NCAA Super Regional Series in Norman, Okla. on Friday night.

With the Sooners leading 2-0 in the 3rd inning, the game was delayed more than 2 hours by lightning.

Tennessee's only run came in the fourth inning when Lexi Overstreet drove in Annie Aldrete to cut the Oklahoma lead to 2-1.

The Sooners took a 4-1 lead off a Brittany Williams solo home run.

Shelby Pendley's 2-run home run in the 6th helped Oklahoma take an 8-1 lead.

Ellen Renfroe was only charged with giving up 3 earned runs.

Tennessee committed four errors in the game.
