KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville juvenile was involved Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash on James White Parkway.

The Knoxville Police Department responded to the accident around 6 a.m. A KPD report indicates that the 2000 Ford Econoline van was traveling the wrong direction on the north bound lane of JWP and drove onto entrance ramp from Hill Avenue when the vehicle struck a concrete barrier.

The driver, and sole occupant, was a 13-year-old juvenile. The driver received what appears to be non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The juvenile had taken the vehicle without permission while the mother was sleeping.
