KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville police said they shot a man Saturday night in the Lonsdale community.

Officers responded a few minutes before 11 p.m. to a domestic disturbance call on the 2100-block of Texas Avenue in the Lonsdale Homes.

KPD says an investigation indicates the domestic argument became violent, and the suspect was shot one time in the leg, and transported to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The officer was transported to UT Medical Center for evaluation and was released. The officer is on administrative leaving pending an investigation, which is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting.

Neither the suspect's, nor the officer's, identity has not been released. Charges are pending.
