Hawkins County man sets Paddlefish record

A Hawkins County native is now a record holder thanks to his hook, line, and sinker. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, 20 year old Gene Armstrong had a record-setting catch weighing in at 90 pounds and 69.6 inches long.
Officials with the T.W.R.A. say Armstrong made the big catch when he went Paddlefish Angling for the first time on Cherokee Lake on April 12th.  The past record of nearly 82 pounds was set in 2012.
