ROCKWOOD (WATE) - An overturned tractor trailer led to the closure of eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Roane County Tuesday afternoon.

The crash was reported around 3:10 p.m. at mile marker 341. One lane reopened around 5 p.m., but the interstate didn't fully reopen until later Tuesday night.

Officials say the truck was hauling pet supplies and was half to three-quarters full. A few boxes dumped over the guard rail.

Crews moved the debris with an end loader. The driver was taken to Roane Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Westbound traffic was not affected.
