MORRISTOWN (WATE) - Interstate 81 in Hamblen County reopened Wednesday morning, just hours after a tractor-trailer fire backed up traffic for miles.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the cargo fire happened around 3 a.m. near mile marker 12 on I-81.

As of 7:30 a.m., crews finished clearing the scene and reopened the interstate.

Officials on scene tell 6 News the tractor-trailer was carrying carpet.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
