1 adult, 2 juveniles suspected in Anderson County mailbox vandalism

HEISKELL (WATE) - Charges are pending against two juveniles and an adult for vandalizing mailboxes in Anderson County. The sheriff's office is now asking anyone who has recently had their mailbox vandalized to file a report.

Deputies say over the past several days, a number of mailboxes were vandalized on East Wolf Valley Road, Davidson Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge Road and Heiskell Road.

Alert residents were able to provide deputies with a description of the suspect vehicle. It was stopped by deputies Thursday night. Two juveniles and an adult were identified as the persons responsible for the vandalism and charges are pending.

Deputies say the problem is only a couple of residents have reported their mailbox damaged, even though officers have noticed a number of others that were also damaged.

Deputies are asking anyone whose mailbox was vandalized to contact the sheriff's department at 457-2414 to file a report so they can file all the charges at one time.

The sheriff's department also wants to thank the residents who called about the vandalism and gave a description of the suspect vehicle, saying the information was instrumental in catching the suspects.
