CENTERVILLE (WKRN) - Hickman County officials found the body of a missing six-year-old with autism Saturday morning.

They located Tristen Demumbran at 10:30 a.m.

His body was found about a half a mile from where his family's car was swept away by floodwater Thursday morning in the Beaver Creek Dam area near Centerville.

According to family members, the family was going to get something to eat when they ran into the high water.

The children’s mother was attempting to get them to safety when she was knocked unconscious after being hit by some type of debris, possibly a tree limb.

Five people, including three other children inside the vehicle, were able to escape safely, but Tristen was not found.

More than hundred people including authorities in Hickman and Maury Counties, along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted in the search.

Funeral plans are pending.
