SWAT team standoff ends in Campbell County arrest

NEWCOMB (WATE) - Campbell County deputies arrested a man Sunday who had been on the run for two days after a standoff involving a SWAT team.

James Thomas was apprehended Sunday afternoon. He is suspected of breaking into a church, some homes and stealing a tractor.

He was inside his house in Newcomb for hours as police waited for him to surrender. Deputies called Thomas terroristic.

Thomas is also currently on parole for a pharmacy robbery in Kentucky.
