Vols land commitment from Texas HS quarterback

Knoxville (WATE) - A Texan has turned to Tennessee for his college football future.

Highly regarded high school quarterback Quinten Dormady announced on social media on Monday that he will sign with the Vols in 2015.

"I have committed to Tennessee. This is a blessing and a dream come true," Dormady said on Twitter.

Dormady is listed at 6-4 and 208 pounds and is a classic drop-back style passer.

He chose the Vols over Alabama and some other big names schools including Oklahoma State.

The Vols have a three-way battle for the starting quarterback position heading into the 2014 season.

Senior Justin Worley and sophomore Joshua Dobbs have the most playing experience, while sophomore Nate Peterman is also in the mix. All three players started games in 2013.

A fourth quarterback, Riley Ferguson, has told Butch Jones that he won't be returning for his sophomore season.
