OAK RIDGE (WATE) - Two people were taken to the hospital Monday night after a stabbing in Oak Ridge.

Police say they were called to South Benedict Avenue near South Dillard Avenue around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a crowd of about 20 people in the street, some of whom were allegedly intoxicated.

When officers arrived, they found Kevin Steen, 48, lying in the street with bruises on his head and face. A second person had reportedly been stabbed and ran off.

A few minutes later, officers located Eddie Mitchell, 32, at the nearby Hallmark Apartments. He had several stab wounds.

Both men were taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation. Oak Ridge police say they are not sure what charges, if any, will be filed.
