Father's Day in E. Tenn. is hot, humid

6 Storm Team Meteorologist

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - ?Mother Nature will start to turn up the heat and humidity starting today on the Father’s Day. We will see highs climb into the mid-upper 80s under a mix of sun and clouds and some low level moisture streams in from the south. There could be just enough moisture, combined with the warmer temperatures, to spark off a few isolated storms across the higher terrain areas of the Mountains and Plateau. High pressure then settles in for a few days to start the week, which means more heat and humidity, but it should limit the afternoon storm threat a bit. That will change as the high shifts away from us a bit and allows a few upper level disturbances to approach the region. This means there will be slightly better opportunities for pop-up to scattered storms towards the end of the week

FATHER'S DAY: Warmer with a mix of sun and clouds and just a slight chance for a few random pop-up P.M. storms across the higher terrain areas (10%-20% coverage). High: 88.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild. Low: 67°.
MONDAY: Partly cloudy, warm and humid with a limited storm threat. High: 89°.
