KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County Criminal Court Clerk Joy McCroskey confirmed with 6 News that she fired another employee over clerical errors.

Deputy clerk Genie Owens was terminated Monday after failing to complete the transcript of judgment the day it was supposed to be complete for three individuals, according to McCroskey.

McCroskey said she was unsure how the errors affected the three individuals if at all.

McCroskey said Owens has been warned in the past.

Owens was suspended without pay over performance issues in January 2012.

McCroskey's office has been under scrutiny since last year when problems came to light with paperwork and record keeping. Those problems led to a number of wrongful arrests.
